Robert Mitchell Sr. - How Kwik Dry Began

I’m Robert Mitchell, the proud owner of Kwik Dry LLC. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

At the young age of twenty-three, I knew my calling was to help people. I had the word “restoration” ringing loud and clear in my heart.

I thought that meant my calling was in ministry, and I went to bible school to learn more. There, my professors taught that many people that feel called to the ministry are really called to serve in other ways than standing at a pulpit delivering sermons.

So in 1987, after completing my education, I jumped into a career in management. My first job was as a night assistant in a convenience store. However, being a carpenter until this point and having the ambition to minister to a congregation, I served my customers with the same passion as if they were in my church and I was their pastor.

Within a year of joining the company, I was promoted to training manager and told to teach all our employees my kind of customer service.

After ten years as a carpenter, fifteen years as a mid-level manager for retail and restaurants, in early 2000, I started Kwik Dry LLC. as a carpet cleaning company.

Coincidentally, one of my first customers needed assistance with water damage. After successfully helping repair and restore the damage, I had the realization I had just found the purpose of my life. I was meant to help people with fire, smoke, water, and mold restoration services.

Since starting my business twenty-one years ago with just my son, Robert Mitchell Jr as an employee, and doing mostly carpet clean jobs, with my experience in carpentry and management, along with his skills, we have become the leading carpet cleaning and home restoration company in the Springfield, Missouri area.

My son Robert Mitchell Jr is an owner-operator, and Keira, my wife and I are owners. Nowadays, I work mainly as a project manager and customer service executive. We now employ a whole team of experts to restore homes and businesses that have been damaged by water, smoke, mold and fire.

Our vision at Kwik Dry LLC. is to assist you in filing insurance claims and ensure your insurance is paid out in full. We restore your home, bringing it back to its original state, even better because it’s brand new.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my genuine desire to help people. I also take my job seriously as I understand the importance of allowing my customers to return home at the earliest possible time.

I attribute my success to my fantastic team. By “team” I do mean not only our employees but also our entire team of experts. I believe we work with the best vendors, tradespeople, suppliers and advisors and they have helped make Kwik Dry LLC. an overnight success.

Similarly, I also think my son has been a significant asset to my business. Watching him grow into the competent professional that he is and take my business onwards and upwards has been highly gratifying and made me immeasurably proud.

When I am not at work, I enjoy traveling with my family, weight-lifting, networking and public speaking. I am incredibly passionate about networking and am a proud member of Business Network International.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
